Electric trucks with Avia chassis are broadening green transportation in USA
Washington/Prague – Electric trucks of the American company Smith Electric Vehicles with cabs and chassis of the Czech brand AVIA, representing the breakthrough in the world green transportation, were introduced to America. Members of Obama’s administration together with senator Kit Bond handover keys of the six new full electric trucks to MDs and CEOs of six top American companies including Coca-Cola and AT&T, in the front of the Capitol in Washington DC on Tuesday, July 28th, 2009. The first six ecological midi-trucks under the brand “SMITH” are a part of Obama’s plan on reduction of emissions in the USA. New trucks are aimed to the multifunctional use from food deliveries up to electrical services and during next years they have ambitions to replace in some parts of transportation classical trucks. Company Avia Ashok Leyland is not a greenhorn on the ecological automobiles market. AVIA cooperates almost five years with the British Tanfield Group already. Their electric trucks are supplied to Great Britain, Ireland, France and the Netherlands which are important export markets for these kinds of trucks for the Czech brand AVIA. From the introduction of these trucks to the American market, AVIA expects increased interest in its components and manufacturing, which is also a high potential for the future.
